Even if you don't suffer from excessive acne, your training may be adversely affecting your skin. Yes, acne can be induced by exercise.

But what causes this? Scientists are still uncertain what the exact answer is, but they do have some worthwhile theories. Your lymphatic system is controlled by movement and operates best during exercise. The lymphatic system is also known as "the drainage system of the body". This system consists of lymph nodes & vessels that carry lymph fluid around your body. This amazing circuit collects waste from tissues and returns it to the blood after it has been fully purified.

If the lymph is insufficiently activated, cells swim in their own waste which can block pores. Lymph fluid carries cells that help fight infection. When the blood cells are not able to unload their toxins via the kidneys, they go to the next best eliminative organ: your skin!

When bacteria starts to set in the pores- it causes acne. A raised heart rate brought on by exercise also activates your oil -producing sebaceous glands. Some people have over active sebacious glands from genetics and, when mixed with lymph fluid, toxins or bacteria produces blemishes induced by exercise.

This condition can creep up on us over a long period of time, which is why persons who never had acne are suddenly plagued by it, regardless of what age the exerciser is.

Some persons confuse Acne Mechanica caused from actual exercise. Acne Mechanica is an acneiform eruption that has been observed after repetitive physical trauma to the skin such as rubbing, occuring from clothing (tight sports bras) or sports equipment (football helments, head bands, and shoulder pads.) It's a type of acne which develops in reaction to aggravated heat by covered skin, constant pressure and repetitive "friction" from tight clothing such as sports bras, rubbing against skin, synthetic fibers common in sports bras and fitness attire as shorts, don't allow the skin to breathe, mixed with sweat and oil thus causing acne to form. Cyclists often suffer from this acne by the constant rubbing from the seat of their bike and synthetic shorts.

Use 2 to 3 times a week for occasional breakouts and to control excessive oil after thoroughly cleansing with the Stellar Performance Post Workout Cleanser and applying Herbal Astringent Toner. Allow to set for 15 to 20 minutes-remove with cool damp wash cloth.
The Clarifying Camphor Masque contains Camphor, a fragrant thick oil derived from the wood of the Cinamonum Caphora Tree of the Far East very medicinal while refreshes and calms irritated red skin conditions.
Bentonite- a fine mineral clay very effective for drawing excess oil from skin.
Colloidal Sulfur- naturally occurring element known for its cleansing, healing and purifying properties. Bees Wax and Titanium Dioxide are also incorporated.
This masque will also help to keep acne from reoccurring when healed.

HELPFUL TIPS:

* Make sure your acne is not an internal factor by visiting your doctor/dermatologist. In some cases acne can be caused by a reaction to certain medications, allergic reactions from vitamin supplements, anabolic steroids, certain foods or hormonial changes. In this case an antibiotic prescribed by your doctor can help cure the acne and not a topical treatment.

FAQs

I have highly sensitive skin and most products I used for acne caused my skin to be dry. Will this be right for me?

The products are all designed for sensitive skin with no harsh chemicals which leads to dryness. The botanicals are extracted using a cold pressed process thus eliminating alcohol content unlike mass production methods.

I break out on my shoulders and back. Can I use the Acne Treatment for this?

Are there any known side effects?

My breakouts stopped since using the treatment. What should I use to prevent future breakouts?

Continue with the Camphor Treatment Masque 2 times a week. As your exfoliator use the Honey Almond Scrub 3 times a week post workout. Never allow more than 30 minutes to cleanse after exercise. Use the Stellar Performance Post Workout Cleanser as your daily cleanser.

Can the Acne Solution be used by teenagers?

Yes. It is recommended for teens 13 years old and up.

I have cystic acne. Will this treatment help cure it?

No. Cystic acne is an internal issue.

I have breakouts only where my sports bra straps are. Is this caused by exercise?

No. This is called Acne Mechanica, which is caused by the "friction" and heat of the strap rubbing the skin mixed with sweat and oil thus irritating it causing pimples. You would only need to cleanse with the Stellar Performance Post Workout Cleanser and apply the Camphor Treatment Stick only to blemishes. Also, it may be possible your sports bra has an incorrect fit which causes it to move during workout causing this friction.
